charity status

isirv is a company registered in England and limited by guarantee (the format for not-for-profit organizations) accorded on 6 December 2006 (company number 6021083, registered charity number 1118829). isirv is managed by a Board of Trustees who are elected by members at the Annual General Meeting. The Board itself elects a Chair, Secretary, and Treasurer as officers of the organization.

For day-to-day activity and administration, the Board is currently assisted by a Consultant Organizer and by Integress Meetings and Events.

The isirv initiative is supported by offices of the World Health Organization, the WHO Collaborating Centres for Reference and Research on Influenza, and an international group of individual scientists, clinicians, and public health experts.

isirv's core activities will be funded by annual subscription payable by all members, income from events, and the Options Legacy Fund. Financial support may also be requested from other organizations such as international or national bodies, in particular those with a remit for public health and scientific and medical research.

isirv will seek close collaboration with other bodies and organizations with related objectives, e.g. to act as a joint advocate of other major public health initiatives in the field, including the WHO Global Influenza Programme.
