2nd Epidemiology Group Conference

Incidence, Severity and Impact of Influenza
Stockholm                                                 16 - 18 January 2019
The 2nd Epidemiology Group conference took place at the new ECDC facilities in Stockholm. It was an interdisciplinary meeting bringing together epidemiologists, clinical researchers, as well as experts in public health, risk analysis, big data and global health. The focus was on severe disease presentations with influenza and other respiratory viral infections. Website

Options for the Control of Influenza IX

Every 3 years, isirv holds its premier meeting, bringing together experts in the field of influenza from all over the world. For the 9th meeting in the Options series, over 1300 delegates from 79 different countries converged on Chicago.

The University of Siena-ISIRV School of Influenza was aimed at young scientists and was a great opportunity to obtain a thorough grounding in all aspects of influenza. Lectures were given by world-renowned experts in their field. Some Travel Fellowships were granted, withpreferencegiven to those from resource-poor countries.

Incidence, Severity and Impact of Influenza 2016

This epidemiology conference aims to promote discussion among international scientists, healthcare professionals and public health officials about the assessment of the impact of epidemics of influenza and other respiratory viruses, including the incidence of infections, the clinical severity of infections and the consequent burden of morbidity and mortality.

This ISIRV conference aimed to be the world's premier respiratory pathogens (viruses, bacteria and others) meeting, and covered  a range of topics from emerging diseases, epidemiology, immunology, diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics, and clinical management.

The University of Texas at Austin, Texas USA   2-4 June 2015

The main focus of this conference was on the pre-clinical and clinical development of therapeutics for influenza and other respiratory viruses, including RSV, SARS, MERS-CoV.

The Georgia Center, University of Georgia, Georgia, USA
15 - 17 April 2015

This symposium on Neglected Influenza Viruses built on the success and retained the format of the first two meetings held in Florida (2010) and Dublin (2013). The conference explored the latest surveillance data, vaccination and control strategies, diagnostic techniques, experimental research data and epidemiological and economic impact studies relating to swine, canine and other non-human/non-avian influenza viruses.

The conference took place in Japan from 4-6 June 2014.  Resources from the meeting are now available to isirv members.

The conference focussed on recent advances in understanding and mitigating the impact of respiratory virus infections, with a particular emphasis on clinical management.  It provided a forum for clinicians, public health specialists, virologists, and medical scientists to present their research and discuss the latest advances in epidemiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, prevention and clinical management of influenza and other respiratory viruses.

The format included plenary sessions with invited lectures, sessions for oral presentation of submitted papers and poster sessions.
