Dr Monne (DVM, PhD) is the Head of the Innovative Diagnostic laboratory - Division of Research and Innovation at IZSVe. She holds a veterinary degree from University of Padova and a PhD from the University of Turin in Veterinary Hygiene and Hygiene of Animal Production.

Her key qualifications include laboratory diagnosis of avian influenza, Newcastle disease and other viral diseases of animals and molecular epidemiology applied to infectious diseases.

As part of the staff of the National, FAO/OIE Reference Centre for Avian Influenza and Newcastle disease and the OIE Collaborating Centre for Diseases at the Human-Animal Interface she has been involved in 14 National and 8 European research projects. She is Member of the Technical Committee for evaluation of the GISAID (Global Initiative on Sharing All Influenza Data) platform and is currently associate editor for Virology Journal.

She has authored and co-authored 120 publications on peer-reviewed journals and national and international publications and proceedings.
