 AWARDS                                       School of Respiratory Viruses 7-11 May 2018

The Lars Haaheim Travel Fellowship
Professor Lars Haaheim was a world-renowned influenza teacher and research scientist at the University of Bergen, Norway until his untimely death in 2011. Lars was also one of the founder members of ISIRV and a strong advocate of the "School of Influenza" concept.  The first School was co-organised by Lars and Emanuele Montomoli from the University of Siena. In memory of Lars Haaheim and through a generous donation from Lars’ widow Vigdis, we have created the "Lars Haaheim Travel Fellowship" to allow selected students to attend ISIRV Schools in the future.

Selection 

Selection will be made by a Fellowship Committee consisting of three members of the organising committee, all of whom are ISIRV Board members. Applicants should be:

  • Age below 35
  • An investigator at the start of their career       

Those interested should provide:

  • A brief CV  - to include the reasons for requesting the award
  • A letter of support from supervisor

Preference will be given to students from the EMR and MENA. Any time off for parental leave will be taken into consideration.

Use of Fellowship

The Fellowship will be used to pay all the student’s costs (registration fee, board and accommodation, travel).
